Rebecca was a very organised bride and contacted me back in 2011 to book. I was thrilled to photograph Rebecca and Mark’s wedding – they had chosen the most spectacular venues and of course Liverpool was previously voted the European Capital of Culture in 2008. I love Liverpool city centre, just packed with amazing venues, fabulous architecture and of course lovely friendly people.
Rebecca and Mark got married at a civil ceremony in the registry office which is part of the infamous St George’s Hall. It is a magnificent building which lends itself to spectacular wedding photographs. We took full advantage of its dramatic backdrops and also made the most of the gardens.
The celebrations continued at the Radisson Hotel, Liverpool where the guests were greeted by the sounds of the very talented pianist Adam Dawson. Adam played beautifully on a very glamorous white baby grand piano in the hotel lobby. The Radisson’s lobby area is impressive enough in its own right. Intelligent architectural structure and modern interior design make for breathtaking views, perfect for contemporary wedding photography!
The staff at the Radisson could not have been more helpful and the service was excellent. They were extremely attentive, serving endless canapés and drinks for the guests. The room where the wedding breakfast was held was stylishly decorated with stunning flower arrangements and impressive centrepieces on each table. There was a fabulous cupcake wedding cake as well as a more traditional cake which was beautifully crafted by Rebecca’s talented mum!
Whilst the guests sat down to enjoy the wedding breakfast, the Fun Casino Royale staff were busy outside setting up a mobile casino! Very soon, a full size roulette table complete with glamorous croupier was sitting in the bar area ready for guests to have a casual gamble following dinner! This was such a fantastic idea. So often at weddings there is a gap between the end of the wedding breakfast and the start of the evening reception… the guests go into relaxation mode with a content full tummy and the general energy of the room takes a little lull. The casino was a perfect way to bridge the time and allow guests to have some fun, gradually easing everyone into the evening celebrations. Rebecca and Mark soon headed to the dance floor for the first dance for which they chose a very original song (check out their wedding photography slideshow on YouTube for a listen).
This really was a fantastic wedding to be a part of. Rebecca did an excellent job of planning everything and the couple certainly know how to do things in style! Thank you so much to Rebecca and Mark who were such a lovely couple and also their very hospitable family and friends who made me feel very welcome for the day. It was a pleasure to photograph your wedding, you both look very happy and I wish you all the best for your future together!
